ALAN THE WORLD #9
Singer and AneCan model alan: her present, past & future.
How is everyone? I’m fine~ I got my first medical check recently and I was declared completely healthy! I haven’t received all the results yet, but I got an A in all categories. My highest scores were 90 and 88 points. Apparently my immune system is really strong~ Which reminds me, my music staff often praise me by saying, “your throat is really strong”. My throat takes out any germs before they can enter my body!
My friends find it strange that I’m so healthy. My work is irregular, I often stay up all night watching DVDs and I hardly ever exercise. The doctor asked me, “How many minutes a day do you walk?” I answered, “Five minutes.” He warned me, “Please move more.” But my currents health is thanks to my childhood. I was like a giant panda. Wild, I mean (laughs). I played outside every day and moved a lot. I also got injured a lot, but my body is really strong.
The doctor also told me, “Be sure to eat enough vegetables.” The fact that I only eat meat has been exposed... I’ve always loved meat~! Tibetans are nomadic people, living in high places. That’s why their food has to contain a lot of energy. They always eat high-calorie food like meat and butter tea. The meat of Tibetan cuisine is really delicious. Like the meat of the yak; they’re big Tibetan cattle with lots of fur. Have you ever heard of yak?
Yak eat naturals plants and drink natural mountain water. When Japanese eat yak meat, they’ll definitely say, “It tastes really different!” The meat is tougher than usual. That’s why you have to boil it with daikon radish and Japanese pepper. Don’t cut the meat into little pieces, but keep big chunks. Cut the meat yourself when you eat it. And add a bit of red pepper. That’s the taste of my hometown.
Ma Po tofu also has the taste of my hometown. I only cook about 10 times a year. That’s because it’s a pain to wash dishes. But there are times where I really want to eat Ma Po tofu. There’s a restaurant with Sichuan cuisine on Takeshita Street in Harajuku, but it’s embarrassing to go there alone. That’s why I make it myself. It’s embarrassing but I added a picture of it here. Japanese Chinese food is quite sweet. I prefer spicy food. Spicy food reminds me of my hometown. If I can eat nice spicy food, I don’t feel lonely no matter how far I am from home. ...Ah, I’m hungry now (laughs).
