| Greetings fellow alan fans from Texas! My name is Eric, and I've been a fan of alan since early 2008. After hearing 心・戦, alan was undoubtedly my favorite singer, and after learning about her faith (both to Buddhism and to her family/dreams), devotion, and compassion, she became my favorite celebrity/role model. I'm currently a student studying biomedical engineering and business... alan's music and her hard work ethic have throughout the years given me the strength and motivation to push on, and I always turn to her music to relax. Whenever I go back to Taiwan, I always try and pick up some of her CD's, but the store owners always think I misspelled A-Lin's name lol.. =__= My favorite songs (off the top of my head would be): 心・戦 (Chinese vers), Gunjou no Tani (Acoustic version), and 愛就是手. I also really love the Lan Se ~Love Moon Light~ album, and I'm so tempted to get Love Song, but don't know if a deluxe version is coming out? I listen to all types of music, but I'm absolutely in love with Chinese ballads (esp love songs lol). In my free-time, I enjoy playing piano and guitar, singing, practicing kung-fu (Yang-style Taichiquan and Shaolin Long-Fist), eating new foods, meeting new friends/learning about new cultures, and driving. (I'm a huge car nut. My dream car would be the Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder and Toyota Supra TT.) It's nice to finally join AI (been lurking for a couple years already lol)... But most importantly... 生日快樂,阿蘭!! Happy Birthday alan! |

| Hello...! Well... I guess I don't need to say "Welcome to the forum!" since you've been lurking longer than I've been here as a member. It's nice to meet you though! And nice to meet another person in the same country as me! I have family members who live in Texas too! Hope to see you around here more! :D |

| Always good to hear that she has new fans! Alan's focus on principles of love, peace, compassion and harmony through her music and career and her hard work ethics are what appeals to me too - also a Buddhist here. Since I first heard Ashita e Sanka, you can hear/feel these principles in her voice/music. I hope she continues to emphasize these principles in her career.
I pray that the corrupt ways of the entertainment industry doesn't change her; goodness knows about the competition, for the fame and attention etc. |

| Thank you all for the very warm welcome! :)
@Sesshy: Yep - I'll definitely stay active here (rather than just lurking heh). AI seems to be a very close and warm community.
@twilightsky: Amituofo, my friend. I definitely share the same sentiments and really love the message she is spreading with her lyrics and actions. She is not only a great celebrity, but I feel she is a wonderful rolemodel. I too pray that she will walk free from the taints that plauge the industry. She has stayed true for such a long time already, so I have great faith that alan will continue in her ways!
@pommy: Hello again! Oh, you also love the acoustic version? It just feels so peaceful to me! Out of curiosity, what are some other songs that you feel are under-rated? (I also like some of her covers from her "Shengshen Zui Rulan" album since they feature so many Chinese classics hehe..) Oh! You're also Taiwanese -cool! I definitely miss all the nightmarket food and shopping, even though I just came back from there 2 months ago lol.
@victor: I think some certain areas in Texas have quite a few Asians, but not too many of my friends know about alan.. :/ Oh? Do I hold the record for longest lurker haha?
@adantatu2: Thank you! :) |

| Totally! My favorite alan song of all-time is Gunjou no Tani and the only other song that rivals it is the acoustic version lol I feel like Yume no Garden is really underrated. People talk about her b-sides more than this album track, but it's just so soothing and mystical to me! Haha I definitely miss the night markets...The only reason I want to go back is for the food |

| Oh that's awesome! Glad to find another Gunjou no Tani lover! :)
Yep, it's a great song - definitely agree with you on that. (And you are quite right it is under-rated - I didn't recognize it at first lol... =__=) I also really love Kuon no Kawa Endroll Version (sucker for her Chinese songs featured in Chi-Bi lol) and am a big fan of Ai Wa Chikara - definitely dig the "opera" feel. So soothing and moving!
Hehe, yeah - food in Taiwan really is something... I miss Stinky Tofu, Boba, Oyster Pancake, and snake soup (yes I'm pretty weird that way lol). |
