Greetings! Long-time lurker, finally decided to join.

A bit about myself - I am generally NOT a Pop music fan. There are a few exceptions here and there (alan being the most obvious, lol ) but I'm actually a huge Heavy Metal fan - a metalhead, so to speak. From Black Sabbath, to Iron Maiden, to Slayer, I tend to enjoy the more extreme end of the musical spectrum, heh. I also enjoy some of the lesser-known/Indie Rock bands from Japan as well, and Classical music.

Still, I'm here to join in the alan love. She really is an amazing singer and person in general, one of those rare combination of beauty, talent, humility, and a down-to-earth personality. I still haven't listened to everything she's put out yet, but from what I have heard from her, plus her personality and yes, her looks (I am a guy after all ;) ) she's made me a fan. :)

lol, among a few other things. Actually, thanks to the "artists like alan" thread I was able to add Sa Dingding and SingerSen to the collection as well. ;)

Welcome! I think I might be a bit like you when it comes to musical taste. I've been listening to metal for a long time while avoiding most pop music. When I started to explore other genres I began to take a liking towards some Japanese and Chinese pop, especialy alan's music. Nice to hear that I'm not the only metalhead here.

We should definitely introduce alan to Metal some how. Can you imagine alan fronting a Symphonic Metal band like Nightwish or Epica? With her classical training, she's definitely got the voice for it!

Hearing alan sing some symphonic or folk metal could be pretty cool. Tibetan influenced folk metal with alan as singer could be pretty nice. I guess we'll have to settle with the rock version och the Red Cliff theme for now.

Ah, how could I forget Folk Metal? Yes, alan fronting a Tibetan Folk Metal band would be quite the sight and sound. Or, could you imagine her doing a collaboration with Chthonic from Taiwan? Alan and vocalist/erhu-player Freddy Lim could do an erhu duet, heh!
