| Since with alan, this is one of those never ending topic about how people want her to return to her "traditional roots".
I must admit....I really only noticed alan in the beginning because of how traditional Ashita e no Sanka sounds. It was only after that I learned to love more of her other songs.
I was a bit disappointed when she released Swear...She has such amazing vocals that she doesn't really need such an "easy" song like Swear. I do miss some of her epic ballads...but now I really don't. If all alan that releases are ballads, I will probably be so tired.
Diamond and Over the clouds are such great examples that alan is really a versatile artist. She can do pop, electro, ballads, and etc. (I'm still waiting for that really rock song)
I love her old songs, but I'm sure that I'll love her new songs too! |

| I actually preferred my life to Voice of EARTH. Ballads can get quite depressing and alan's voice allows her to do different genres. There's nothing wrong imo with experimentation. Haha. |

| I'm one of those who prefer the traditional songs. The new songs are a nice change, that's right, but what most of alan's fans noticed her for in fact was the wailing together with that ethnic origin in her music.
My main 'problem' about most of her my life songs was that most of the ballads and midtempo songs made her voice sound kinda... flat. Knowing what amazing things she can do, it was a huge let down for me. Essence of me and Lost child were pretty cool anyway as in her voice actually supported the music in some way and vice versa. As long as she keeps _experimenting_ and is not stuck on the 0815 songs featured in the first half of my life, I'm fine with it. Diamond and Over the clouds needed some time for me to get used to them, but I think they are an improvement compared to songs like Swear. ... I don't know if it's easy to understand what I mean Q_Q |

| I'm also a 'Voice of Earth' fan. Not that I'm saying I want her to do all traditional Chinese wailing ballads. But that's what gave her personality and originality. People NOTICED her because of that sound.
I was glad when she started branching out a little more, but my life was a definite disappointment. I don't have a problem with her experimenting with more modern music, but why did such modern music have to be really, really boring? My main gripe with this album was that most of the album tracks were mediocre and of the 'regular, safe J-Pop variety', didn't show off her amazing vocals and didn't have half the originality Voice of Earth did.
I want her to show off her versatility without losing that inner Tibetan girl who talks about peace and the Earth. I want her to do upbeat without sounding boring and unoriginal. I always want her to sing songs that show off just how beautiful her voice is.
I admit, I do miss her wailing.
Voice of Earth had its flaws too, such as the album tracks dimming in comparison to the singles, having too many singles and not enough new, Together only being a first-press track, too many ballads in general... and I've already complained enough about my life.
I'm hoping, that with alan's next album, third time's the charm. Diamond/ Over the Clouds, is a pretty strong start.
(But please alan, don't take too many pages from Ayu's book again) |

| okey... my opinion. Yes, I missed old alan, and her epic ballads. and I said, I missed, I really don't like My Life, but... I loved Diamond/ Over the clouds! The only thing that I follow alan is cuz she really CAN sing!!! Would be awesome if she release some things like Diamond... cuz I think these song are really good! but well... I don't want that alan become a comercial singer, or a second Ayu D:! |

| I love her Voice of EARTH and now I really miss her Tibetan wail. This is kinda confusing for me coz epic ballads are not that mainstream, not all people can accept her traditional-ish songs. when I recommended the songs to my friends, some of them don't like slow songs and they don't like Voice of EARTH coz it's 100% ballad. But her new pop songs in my life sounds lil bit boring. Diamond/Over the clouds is nice and I really really don't understand how can't it gain high rating :gloomy:
IMO alan is a great singer, her voice is totally awesome and I believe she can make it to be one of the best. Maybe it's all about time, she just doesn't find the best music style that fit her yet. |

| My doubt for alan's newer work all came from the first half of my life besides Call My Name because I love all disco even if it's as boring as Call My Name. It's my curse in musical taste. In contrast, alan's ballads tend to have more vocal range which is why I liked her in the first place. I also have a tremendous bias toward folk music so I'm also being a bit of a nagger in that respect. Thankfully, Over the Clouds restored my faith in alan's branching into other styles.
I still want more songs like Together and Sign though. It's a crime she isn't doing more of those songs. |

| at first i was also feeling being let down of her doing 'easy' or 'it can be sung by anyone' songs. but now... i like that she mixes up things. she is a young artist, she has to explore through genres and different singing techniques |

| I also prefer VOICE OF HEART with those traditional compositions and arrangements. I noticed her because of her wailing (Ashita e no Sanka, RED CLIFF)
Her upbeat songs in my life, aren't that good for me, it seems that she changed her style her music too sudden, this is why I love VOICE OF EARTH more.
Her singles in VOICE OF EARTH era were just too awesome, Ashita e no Sanka, Sora Uta, Gunjou no Tani, RED CLIFF, Megumi no Ame, Kaze no Tegami, is just pure awesome, with those non-singles songs like Together, BRAVE, and the Tennyo ~interludes~ is also great.
When it comes to my life era singles like Kuon no Kawa or Swear, it's really different from her usual works, I don't like it that much. When I hear BALLAD ~Namonaki Koi no Uta~ I'm quite surprised that her wailing is back!
But, after listening to whole album, I think it's a downgrade from VOICE OF EARTH, the new singles like Diamond / Over the cloud is also great but I listen her older songs more.
I do miss her older works. |

| Like most people, I prefer her early days... The first singles were great, specially the elements. Also, as I discovered alan with that material, It'll always have a special place in my heart |

| i felt the same way about swear!
and i do want her to have more stuff like ashita e no sanka, sakura modern, diamond, over the clouds, beauty, nobody knows but me, sign... those songs seem very strong to me and could work very well in an album!
she doesnt have to go "back" with her style of music, she just need to keep evolving... okay, she does the wailing! is cool! but she needs to keep doing stuff until she finds where she feels comfortable ^^ |
