Staying with music till the end
[Article] Femina July 5, 2011 Th_5922954
A complex, but easy name to remember: Alan Dawa Dolma. You can also call her alan, but you must remember that she is a singer. alan still feels that she is lucky because behind all of her hard work, she carries a grateful heart. It's because she likes music, so she must keep on walking down this path without looking back!

[Article] Femina July 5, 2011 Th_841197b244e6176138f3cfe6
People that haven't heard her voice or seen her before? That's impossible because from the streets to the bus stations, you can see her especially sweet face on the ads. That is Alan Dawa Dolma's face. Her soft skin, watery eyes, pretty and sweet face will make everyone who looks at her to love her. The most incredible thing is that she only has a size 34 feet, so when she wears adult shoes, they're a bit too big, but when she wears children's shoes, they're a bit too small. Since she's from Beauty Valley, so she is just the right amount of unique. Her small physique still gives people a grown-up feel. This is how Femina felt when we first saw alan. She greeted the staff as she entered the studio and then she politely bowed. This made everyone feel surprised because we don't deserve such a big bow. alan laughingly said "you don't need to take it into heart because bowing in Japan is a very normal thing to do. I didn't bend 90 degrees since that is truly a big bow!"
alan's speaking voice is especially attractive. It's soft and gentle and have a feeling of a fairy's. But when this voice sings, it's ethereal and it's because of this voice that brought her out of her hometown and defeated a bunch of top-notch singers. It's because of this voice that she is able to taste all of the happy and sad feelings of chasing her music dreams. She said "I'm still luckier than many people and it's because of this luck that I have to work even harder." Her friends all care and love her deeply and they're not afraid that she'll get hurt, but that everyone who comes in contact with her will be captured by her sweetness. As long as she asks for anything, you would willing sink into her small stubbornness.
If you want to research the tabloids about her on Baidu and Google, then you can just stop wasting your time! She is as clean as water, so there's no tabloids for you to dig up. She dedicates her entire self into work and she still believes that she has an unfinished music dream. The classic Leo O-blood type person would always be self-motivated no matter what they do. This kind of self-motivation will let her climb higher and higher, but now she feels guilty because she hasn't been able to give a lot of her time to her parents. Since she's so busy, so where would she get the time to stir up rumors. It looks like she really is a fairy!

Even on this unfamiliar road, there's still me
She was born in Beauty Valley, but didn't grow up there. This mysterious hometown name would make everyone want to born reborn there again, so when we're introducing ourselves, we can talk about "Beauty Valley" these 2 words. We can be jealous of such a natural place, but there's no use. There's many beautiful women in Beauty Valley, but there's only one alan. She started to learn music since she was little and even her major in college was in music. It is only natural for this musician to want to walk even further on this music path!
When alan auditioned for Avex in China, she was only thinking about letting that audition be a learning experience, so she didn't think that out of 30,000 people that she would be chosen. When she was chosen, they only planned for her to be an Axex China artist and she felt so lucky that she thought it was unbelievable. "I don't know why the company decided for me to develop in Japan and the 19-year-old me didn't think too much about it, so I went." This little girl that learned Chinese music and didn't know Japanese was able to start from the beginning with Jpop in Japan, so you can see her passion for music!
"It was definitely hard in the beginning and not being able to communicate was the biggest obstacle and then there was loneliness, so it was hard!" She had to depend on herself no matter what she did. The kind of hard work and loneliness that she had can probably only be understood by those that had experienced it themselves, but she was supported by a deep sense of faith. Her development in Japan was successful. She originally only "wanted to release an album, then I'll be satisfied", but now she has already released her 15th single "Minna de ne ~PANDA with Candy BEAR's". So many of her good songs have to do with animals and caring for the environment. Her ethereal voice probably does have the effect of cleaning everyone's soul, so choosing her was definitely not a wrong decision!

There's nothing wrong with being young
For a rookie debuting in Japan, she would have to bow a lot, but for such a tradition-based country like Japan, bowing is a very normal thing. Everyone is always your senpai and teachers, so you are always the youngest, but there's nothing wrong with being young. It is because of this that alan was able to be taken care of by so many teachers in Japan. A lot of top-notch Japanese producers has guided and supported alan. Japan's #1 Ayumi Hamasaki's producer, Kikuchi Kazuhito, and the highly respected musician, Ryuichi Sakamoto, have all worked with alan. This is also one of the reason for alan's growth in music.
A lot of people that people who succeeded early on during their debut would make singers too confident and that would be their downfall, but you can't see that on alan. She is young and successful, but that didn't happen overnight. A massive amount of hard work can be seen from her tiny body. Whether it has been bitter and difficult, only she knows. The young alan can also be considered a little senpai right now in Japan and she can guide and support others. alan laughed and said "now I'm starting to accept bows from others!"

Battle back to her homeland
alan is already famous in Japan and it is because she sang the theme song for "RED CLIFF" that the Chinese public has become familiarized with her. Of course, those die-hard fans don't count. This song, "Xin Zhan" is magnificent and soul-stirring, but Femina thinks that she has sung out all of alan's hard work during these years. She has sung out her specialty. Even the big director, John Woo, gave alan 5-stars. "alan's voice is like a voice that comes out of an empty valley and encourages a stirring and tender feeling. Between the pureness and brilliance, there is also the feeling of a hero's courage and sentiment. With this song, "Xin Zhan", she has not only sung out the romantic feelings between the characters, the courage and strength to accept any challenge, but she has also sung out the valuable feelings of friendship and hope. Thanks to alan for singing out the heartfelt wishes of "RED CLIFF" and of our own."
Coming back and developing is something that will happen sooner or later. alan has already prepared a lot for it. Even though she's focused on her career in Japan, but she said "I was still too young when I left my home and now I'm 24. I don't have a lot of time to spend with my parents, so I've always felt guilty about it. Even though they would come to see me and I would go back to see them, but this is still not enough." She also said "my parents are traditionally Tibetan, so family is very important and I have a strong sense for returning home. I will have to eventually return home one day. This is something that will definitely happen." Shooting for magazines, being a model, shooting movies, and shootings commercials has all made her so busy. When Femina asked what alan loves to do, she didn't think about it and said "singing!" Most of her songs right now are in Japanese, so this has disappointed some of her Chinese fans, but you guys shouldn't be worried after reading this. Didn't alan just do a duet with Hu Ge for the time-traveling drama, "Bu Bu Jing Xin", theme song! Is her coming back to develop still a faraway dream?

Femina: No matter when an artist just want to be themselves, there will be a time where they'll be "compared". So when you were in this situation, did you feel anxious or tired of it?
alan: There will definitely be comparisons in the beginning, but I am me. I am alan. No one can replace me and I can't replace anyone, so I don't really care much about it.

Femina: Can you talk about your hometown, Beauty Valley? I heard it's a very different and mysterious place.
alan: Beauty Valley is extremely beautiful. Everyone lives in like their own "little villa". The scenery there is especially good and you can always see girls singing and dancing along the road. They are all pretty, so I guess I can say it's a very cultural place.

Femina: In these 20 something years that you've been alive, what were the lowest point and most bewildered things that you've experienced?
alan: Actually, not a lot of things can move me. It was only during middle and high school with my first love and thinking that my emotions were the most important things in life. I also felt like I couldn't continue on with my studies. Now that I think back, I was probably too immature. Even if I want to be in a relationship right now, I don't have the time or chance! But I still want to meet the right person during the right time.

Femina: What score would you give your performance in music right now?
alan: 99.9! I feel like I'm already pretty good because I've been persevering all of these years.

Femina: What's the biggest difference between the you on stage and the you in daily life?
alan: The me on stage has more charm and the me in daily life is an especially ordinary girl.

Femina: Do you want to act? To be a more varied celebrity?
alan: I've never thought about it. There were people that asked me to act, but I only want to sing. It might be because of my personality, but I can't imagine myself as anyone else. If I were to act, then that would take up from a half year to a year. It would be painful for me to not be able to sing during that time.

Femina: Other than music, what else are you interested in? What is your daily life like?
alan: I like to watch movies. One of my special hobby is that I like to collect different hot sauces from different countries because I really love to eat spicy foods.

Femina: As a woman, you must love to maintain yourself, so can you share some of your "beauty tips"?
alan: I always drink a glass of rose honey water everyday and there's a lot of different little things in Japan like my company would always make me drink a C.C. Lemon bottle full of protein. It's better for my skin and I won't have pimples. I recommend for everyone to go and buy it.

Femina: Can you reveal some of your weird little "habits"? A weak point about yourself that your family and friends often criticize?
alan: When I sleep, I must be near a wall and I have to wear an eye mask. Since my temper is more straightforward and stubborn, so it's hard to change, but I don't want to change myself.

Femina: You've lived in China and Japan, so what kind of feeling does these two places give you?
alan: There is a difference between the people that I come in contact with. I've made a lot of friends in Japan and Japanese women are especially sensitive and detailed unlike Chinese women who are more casual. If I jokingly said that their outfit today is horrible, then they would be especially hurt and unhappy. When I'm in China, I'm very casual with my friends, so when I first came to Japan, I had to be really careful of what I said. Now I understand their culture, so it's all fine!
