I'm a fan of these kind of traditional Asian songs. I really like the intro to this album. However I was hoping for a wailing alan like the other intros she's done. But really... I like it. XD

鳳凰
This is a relaxing song. I like the sound effects of the song. This is something I would listen to while working on something on the computer or just chillin' out.

Love Song
As much as I hate the title because Love is sooooooooooooooo damn overused from all over the world... This is song was alright. It puts me to sleep actually (Or I'm really tired right now. lol). Again, it's another song to listen to when you're relaxing.

以愛相宜
I really love this song. There's my traditional Alan song. The voice, the wails, everything, perfect. It's just beautiful. CAN WE HAVE A LIVE LIKE NOW?

Alan seems to be making a lot of relaxing songs in this album, isn't she? lol. I like her high notes in this song.

I like the random male vocals. lmao There's something about me liking a random small addictive sounds in songs. This also has some of the Tibetan voices here.

I'm not much of a fan of her poppy songs. I'm not sure why song feels awkward to me. Especially when she goes: "B-B-B-BABY BABY" But I know that part is going to get into my head... dammit there it goes.

Love Song～きっともう一度～(Japanese Version)
All my feels hit when I heard her Japanese. Man.. I do miss her singing in Japanese. I'm glad she remembers her Japanese fans and made this version. ALAAAAAANNNNNNNN. Oh anyway... you know how I feel about it. AHAHAHAHA


Overall, it's a nice album. If you're really into the slow songs, this album would be recommended. I'll admit, I'm disappointed that there wasn't any of her tibetan songs or something... errmm a fast like song? I felt like they held her powerful voice back, but hey... I'm not hating the album because I do like it.

Also what bugs me a little is the quality of her voice (the audio) but I do notice that on other singers. It's not a OMFG I CAN'T STAND THIS ANYMORE thing. looooool. But yeah...

I'm in love with 以愛相宜 and lan lan right now, but the whole album is gorgeous.

The best song in this album is 以愛相宜 IMO.
To be honest this album is better than what i expected.
It's really calm and alan's voice is beautiful. I like it a lot.

So I procrastinated for the whole day...think it's time I write my rambling thoughts down haha

I absolutely love this! I was puzzled at first, but it just keeps on growing on me! It, however, does not fit in with the rest of the album at all! But I never cared for flow, so it just makes the album better for me. This really sounds like something that Sa Ding Ding would make, so I hope one day that they're collaborate together!

鳳凰
Other than the problem with the arrangement, I love this song. The chorus is so catchy and I love how airy alan sound during it. I don't know why, but I really love alan's enunciation of "ji" in "ji de". I feel like the song doesn't really have a climax though. It's just pretty level throughout and though adding the wails in the back was a nice touch, but alan's wails should be up and front...not in the back.

以愛相依
There are a lot of alan songs that takes my breath away and this is definitely one of them! The song just keeps on getting higher and higher and I even "WOW" when it got to the end because I felt like I was on a roller coaster, but this roller coaster only kept on going up till it crash to the end. This definitely gave me an eargasm.

Love Song
This song really makes me emotional. There's something about the melody that reminds me of Kazuhito because he loves using those "twinkling piano keys" and it just made me remember the old times.

lan lan
I listen to this song and I'm transported to the Amazons. There are toucans flying and monkeys jumping around whenever I listen to this song. This is definitely my new morning/vacation song!

This sounds really Cpop, but it's the kind of Cpop that I like. That's about it~

Ugh I never really liked this song that much. I felt like it's a good melody, but alan doesn't go anywhere. I know she can do so much better than this. The high notes in this song are just sad and it's sadder that it sounds like alan struggled to reach them.

孤獨的天份
This is probably my favorite song! I love the music so much! It's just so dreamy and magical! It really reminds me of Sodagreen and I love that feeling. I love the verses so much. It makes me feel like alan is Alice and she's exploring wonderland.

經過南青山
The arrangement and everything about this song is perfect! I wish the other songs on this album were up-to-par with this song. The lyrics really describe alan and it's so much deeper than the other lyrics (who I just want to kill the lyricists!). I really hope alan will try more rock-styled songs because it's always such a cool contrast with a harder beat and alan's crystal-clear voice. I would love to see something like Sarah Brightman's Symphony from alan. *_* And this song also reminded me of Sodagreen haha

窗外
I really hated the beginning at first, but it's growing on me. I really like the old-fashioned sound of it and the newer modern sound. It gives me an image of a modern girl in a room, but when she looks out the window, she sees this totally old-Shanghai world like from the 1920s.

BABY BABY
I like this song. It's pop and it just has a nice feeling to it. I, however, hate the BABY BABY part. I wish she was singing another word >_>

Love Song～きっともう一度～
This made me tear up so much when I first heard it! I really like the new effects that they added to it, but alan's pronunciation is getting bad lol


Overall, I loved this album! It may be too boring and slow for others, but considering that I didn't have high hopes for this album, this totally exceeded my expectations. I never really judge an album as a whole, but just based on the songs that I love the most and other than BABY BABY, I love every song~

I agree 以愛相宜 is the best track on the album.
I havent stopped listening to it. Put it on *repeats

The intro have a very unique Hindu vibe to it, but the arrangement just doesn't seem to fit the whole song title, I like it how it is arranged with 鳳凰

I really like this song it has a very upbeat feeling to it. Alan just manged to pull this song in a pop style in a right way

This is by far her best song in this album, everything is done right, it show her true singing capability, to her range and to a traditional feeling that we all recognized, the Tibetan wail and the instrument, everything is done in a right way.

Love Song

This song start of slow, but climax at midway, like most have said it is a decent cpop song, but it tend to get a little boring, but an relaxing song.

Lan Lan

It unique in it own way, in a way it reminds me of Venus flower.

I don't know about everyone, but I really like this song, it seem to hit a more modern pop style with that compared to her first few track, I like it

the song is decent but really it nothing special, it is the usual CPOP ballad, I feel asleep listening to this song, it's a forgettable songs.

Sadly, not for me. I guess this song is really love-or-hate. Well not really, since I don't hate it. I actually like the tune... but the choice of instrument and the "ah ah ah"s are just, well, not my cup of tea I guess. And I agree with Hmonks, the whole feel of the intro doesn't fit the song title.

鳳凰
Love the song, which makes me all the more annoyed with the quality of the arrangement. Given the song title I think it could have been much more magnificent with proper arrangement. I love the chorus, especially at the end with the Tibetan wail in the background, and I think that with better production, that would have made a really awesome climax, maybe even having some feelings of ashita e no sanka.

Seriously, I don't think it's possible for anyone not to like this song. It's fantastic in every way, the lyrics, the tune, and of course most importantly the way alan pulls it off. I love how sweet and calm she sounds in the beginning (really like a spring breeze) and how it gradually accumulates into the climax and the Tibetan wails at the end, which is just breathtaking. I really wish they had made an MV for this song though, I can imagine it could have been a really gorgeous MV.

Love Song
I really like this song. When I was reading comments from the chinese fans a lot of them bashed about the low notes, but I actually love the low notes. I think alan does them really beautifully here, and it gives this feeling of somehow just murmuring or quietly telling a story. From the arrangements of Love Song and Phoenix I'm going to guess the producer Cao Lan Di has a preference for gentler arrangements, which I thought wasn't suitable for Phoenix, but works quite well on Love Song.

I agree with pommy, this is such a holiday song! Although it's more Hawaii or Southeast Asia for me than Amazon. The uniqueness reminds me of her Japanese songs, although I don't think the style is really like any of them. Ah well just shows alan's versatility once more :D

This is just the kind of Cpop that I love, and from practical point of view I'm really glad that this song was included in the album. True the song is quite generic and there isn't really anything special, but I can see this song attracting more people who's never heard of alan before to listen to her. It's a safe song that I think will be a rather good pull or hook for potential new fans.

I didn't really like the song when it first came out, but strange enough I actually quite like this song listening to it now. I still don't love it, but it's somehow just better than I remembered it. Plus I loved it when alan did it live. Her live always moves me, but this is one song where it really struck me how much better it was when done live than in the CD.

孤獨的天份
This song has a really surreal feel to it. It reminds me of songs that Tian Fuzhen (Hebe from S.H.E.) sings. But alan's voice in the middle range is sweeter than Hebe's, which makes the song more... I don't know how to put it. It's kind of like both of them would remind me of Alice in Wonderland, but Hebe is Tim Burton's version while alan is the Disney version :D

The "谁在想着谁，谁在念着谁“part really really annoy me, since I actually love pretty much everything else about the song. And I think the spoken part would have been better if not done in dialect, but the way they do Chinese opera, since I think that would bring out more that feeling of old Shanghai times more.

BABY BABY
This song is just so cute and cheerful!!! I just can't help smiling whenever I hear it :D I was literally squealing from cuteness overload when I first heard the "yo yo yo" part.

Love Song～きっともう一度～
I like the added effects. Usually I ignore alan's pronunciation in her Japanese songs anyways so it doesn't really bother me that much, but maybe it's because I got used to the Chinese version, but I somehow feel like the lyric fitted better in terms of the flow... actually maybe that's because of alan's pronunciation.

Overall I really like this album. Obviously there are a lot of things that could be improved (and the difference between new producers and established professionals is really quite obvious when you compare the quality of the songs), but as a Cpop album I think it's really an outstanding piece of work overall. I really like the wide range of different styles of songs that this album has. I know that some people think that there's so flow in the album, but I don't really care about that anyways and I think in this case it just really showcases how versatile alan can be. And just from a commercial point of view, I think that this album could really help alan gain some well-deserved recognition and popularity with chinese listeners. I feel that a lot of the songs in the album are generic enough to appeal to more people, but still has parts that demonstrate alan's talents.

I didnt listen to it a lot, so I wont post a long review. Just first thoughts on the album:

Its a pleasant surprise since my expectations were not really high. Singles are the least exciting ones on the album, which is good. She stayed the same, thats what I loved the most. Its emotional, honest and soft. Songs that I liked the most are 以愛相宜, lan lan, love song and baby baby. The weakest one is 我回來了 but still good imo.

Still hating the cover, but I will purchase this when I got my paycheck.

～水晶蓮～intro
I love this intro. Different from her previous and it shows progression into the Sa Ding Ding experimental zone - I sooooo want them to collaborate too. Only way it could have been improved is if I recognized alan's voice or contribution to the song?

鳳凰
As it's been said, one of the stronger tracks on the album. I really enjoy it and like the message.

以愛相宜
This song is the true GEM of the album. I agree w/ everyone thus far too ----> PERFECTION! It's everything I love about alan: her voice and how well it fits with more classical Chinese music sound hybrid pop.

Love Song
This song is also one of the stronger tracks. I love how at first it's sounds so normal but then over time bam...you grow to love it so much!

It was instant love with this song too. Experimental but I think I like where it takes you - to somewhere else and it really feels organic. From the start of the album until the end of this song was HEAVEN and such a great stretch of songs.

I like this song's acoustic sounds at the beginning but then the pop synzt kicks in and then it becomes a bit generic but it's not bad. I just wish they kept it acoustic all the way - it would show off her voice and make it less generic.

I also was surprise how much I liked this song on the album because I kinda grew bored of it and found it not up to the standard that I have when compared to her epic ballads.

孤獨的天份
I still don't know what I really feel/think about this song. I don't hate it but it's my least favorite among all the songs thus far. I keep on trying to pinpoint what it is about the song that I dislike but I think it's the really music and the way the song is delivered. I feel that it's not really an alan song and that anyone can sing it.

I love the music to this song and how alan sings it. I good rebound from the last song. It saves the album from having the stronger first half than the second half type of album.

窗外
This song started GREAT and I was really loving it and then the guy's voice came in and SANG lines and I was like WAH? Musically, it ties the classical Chinese/ethnic sound to the more pop/generic sound of the album. Her voice is also lovely in this song-- which is why I DON"T know why they decided to include the guy. OK maybe aiming for diversity but still.... This song would have been GREAT w/o the guy.

BABY BABY
It's growing on me. When Swear first came out -- I hate it but now it's one of my favorite songs. This one is so darn catchy that it makes you love it despite being poppy and a bit generic. I enjoy it more than I ever though.

Love Song～きっともう一度～
Maybe listening to all Mandarin songs up to now has influenced me but I think her Japanese pronunciation is weak in the beginning and at certain places of the song and yes, I think they didn't work on adapting the flow of the lyrics to the song as well as they should. I can't make out what she's trying to say during some parts-- something that HAS never happened to me while listening to one of her Japanese songs before. So I'm surprised that it's a bit weak in the beginning/parts. Of course I prefer the Mandarin version but this one is kinda nice in its own way.

Overall - I missed her voice so much - I'm just very happy to have a full length album. On it's own, it's a strong album - much better than the two previous Avex Mandarin releases. I understand her need to not fill up the album with ballads or the ones with ethic/classic music hybrid to attract new fans but they are really her STRONG point. I don't hate any songs and I'm sure with each future listen, I'll grow to appreciate each song more and I need to read the translated lyrics as my Mandarin is still 0.

水晶莲intro
Into this is great, kinda reminds me of some of sa dingding's song intros, the 'ding' of the bell (the prayer bell thingy). I love that traditional instrument (piano with the strings) is being used. The drums also make the it bassy and good feel to it. However I'm not too into the clarinet instrument being used, it sort of wreaks the whole sweet soothy sound. The random "Flower" is a bit weird. However it ties in nicely with the next song.

凤凰
I love the intro to this, esp the first verse and/or first 1:21mins of it. Im not a fan of the chorus though. 2nd verse is nice, her voice is amazing! I totally agree her wailing SHOULDNT be in the background, a bit of a shame.

以爱相宜
This is my favourite track out of it them all. It reminds me of alan's original roots and how she started. It's just so majestic! Her voice is to love! The song reminds me of "Tian Lu" (Road to Heaven) when she performed it in her army uniform with Han Hong. But she has improved sooo much since then. I can listen to this on repeat for ever! alan said this is her fav track too, she also said this song is kinda like a Mongolian song or aspect.

Love Song
Goes well with the micromovie. It's so sad :( The beat to this track is good too. I found that the first time she said "what could I say" seems a bit less or hard to understand compared to the other times being clearer. Dunno, maybe it's just me. Her deep or lower notes in this shows how she has such a great varying voice.

This is great! I love the use of the acoustic and electric guitar, esp the electric solo part. It makes me think of being in a rain forest, cool, damp with rays of sun shining down in parts. This would be great live unplugged.

Wow the guitar at the begining! and the piano playing so great! Not too sure about the 'wooo ah ah ah' part though. yeah it does sound very cpoppy. Oh the first time I heard it when she says bubi duo. I thought she said (Boobie(s) duo) -.- I still think the more I listen to it. eek!

I dont know why when it first came out everyone didnt like it, I liked it since it first came out. Maybe im just a sucker for ballads and piano. It just re-iterates how alan has now 'come back home'.

ok this track for some reason reminds me of Xv Luyun's - Wo Shi Ni De Yao (I'm Your Cure) form her 1999 album. I dont know if you guys know her but she is a Taiwanese singer. I actually got the CD from my then high school gf lol. Both are very similar. The track is actually not too bad I find. Just brings back memories.

Intro in this with the piano is so nice. I initially didnt like the intro when alan says "shezishangzishey" but if you keep on listening you can hear the traditional piano instrument being used. I like it. The use of the male voice singing Tibetan is pretty cool too, adds a bit of depth and deepness/bass in contrast to alan's high voice. The ending wailing is cool too sort of sweet and melodic

haha the tubular song, sounds like you are stuck in a tube slipery slide! it's cute and happy and catchy! BABY BABY BABY ai ni baby baby babe ai ni... xD

Some parts of this I like however some parts just remind me of the Chinese verison or in my mind i'm thinking of the Chinese version. I think like with most dual language songs the first one you hear you'll like and always compare it to. I particularly like at 3:12 when she talks in Japanese, this isnt in the Chinese version.

Overall I'm really happy she has this album. It could have done with more traditional Tibet songs/tunes etc but I also think this wont appeal to the Chinese market, since the whole China vs Tibet political thing. There isnt really a 'Ashita e no sanka' but that's ok. alan's music is lovely in every way, she does well in showing us her different sides. As this long awaited Chinese album delivers us.

I really wasn't feeling this. That instrument used in the song.. I find that it grates my ears. Otherwise the musical arrangement is good. The voices don't impress me much, though. The whole thing doesn't feel entirely "alan" to me, nor does it flow much with the rest of the album.
02. 凤凰 - 4.25/5
One of the sounds used in the song (ex. at end of the chorus ~1:40) made me laugh because I've pretty much only heard it used in rap songs... hahaha. Anyway, the transition between the verses and chorus is weird, and really you're kind of expecting something other than the chorus they gave us. So, it's a little disjointed, but I do love the overall relaxing feeling of it.

My absolute favorite song on the album. The consistent and gradual buildup to the wailing... Oh god it gives me the chills! I want an entire album like this song!
04. Love Song - 4.75/5
I really like this song, but slightly less than the Japanese version. The verses are my favorite part.

06. 长大 - 4.5/5
This really struck me something that belongs on "my life", reminding me most of Lost Child, other parts reminding me of the instruments used in Butterflies.

I still love this song. I think it's a little generic, but for some reason, that doesn't detract from it at all for me. Of course, one of the standout songs on the album.
08. 孤独的天份 - 4.5/5
This kinda feels like alan is a character in a musical singing her character's song (I imagine like by a river in the forest, lol) that kinda goes with the background theatrical music. It's not something I will listen to all the time, but I think it is pretty beautiful.
09. 经过南青山 - 4.75/5
I LOVE THIS SONG, but it's not quite perfect. The part that bugs me is the two parts in each verse where the music stops and it's just alan singing; they throw the song off a little bit. I love the low-pitched violin; it makes me think of the beginning of the Game of Thrones opening theme. A gem. It's so.. touching, haunting. It's a very special song, and whomever composed it did a very good job.

This song is not the right kind of cutesy for my taste. If it were more my style, it would probably get a slightly higher rating. I do think it's a well-constructed song.

Perfect. As I said I prefer this version. With the addition of the "Wish I could see you again..." and the added voice effect to "What could I say?" near the end, I found just those little details made the song feel more special, and it feels like they put more effort into it (dare I say like her other Japanese works.)

I'm pleasantly surprised with this album. I'm always very critical on first listen; when at first I skipped through the tracks, I felt like there weren't any standout songs, but that it could be a nice album for relaxing. After listening to each song fully, I realized it's got several true gems and I really only truly dislike the intro. That is awesome. As with Sharp Light and the rockish song from Love Moon Light, some of the songs have more impressive verses than choruses, which I do dislike, but I do think the choruses are much better this time around. Also, a few songs really made me think of Beauty, the b-side from the Swear single. Actually, I think that song would fit in pretty well on this album.

I might give a better review later, but so far 窗外 is the standout song on the album! It's perfect. I came to this album thinking it was weak and I was ready for it. Things turned out for the better, as i love the album and think it's on par with her juapanese releases. *avoids rotten tomatoes* I wish they would sell this in an american online store, so I could order it. I saw it at like 12 bucks on yesasia, but the shipping alone scares me lol

I'm a SUPER FAN of her japanese releases, maybe her japanse is worse, but i love this song in japanese, the extra effects are really good too.

I don't love the album, but is really good, and is better than what i was expecting. If alan keeps producing music like this i could still supporting her for a long time.

First, I love the intro, it doesn't flow well with the rest of the album, but who cares ? It's so great lol
My favorite songs are : Yi Ai Xiang Yi, do I have to explain why ? then, I also love "lan lan", even though it is repetitive, long, it's the kind of song that you fall in love with and you don't know why, I love the arrangement, her voice, the lyrics, everything ! And some people might find the song a bit long, but I just love how it lasts for more than 6 minutes, lol.

Then, the song I like : Love Song, I love the lyrics, it's kind of generic but once again, I really like alan's interpretation. Then : Feng Huang, it's very generic but I like the traditionnal feeling, with the wailing at the end. It's a cool song. I also like "Jing guo Nan Qing Shan".
I've waited for Zhang Da to grow on me, I still find it quite generic but the melody is good, I like the lyrics. Lyrics are definitely a strong point for that album, that's because Yuehua hired the best Chinese songwriters to pen the songs. "I'm Back" is indeed very generic, but it flows well with the album and it almost never skip it.

I like "Gu Du de Tian Fen", I love the pre-chorus part, it has a mysterious feeling~
I think "Chuang Wai" is OK. I can't really get into it, the beginning bugs me. Same for BABY BABY : the beginning is weird, and the rest is OK.

I finally got the cd yesterday. I was quite surprised when I opened the package and found a cd case twice as long as they usually are. I havn't really listened through the whole cd yet but my impressions this far is better than I thought they would be. I hadn't heard any of the song before except for Feng Huang and BABY BABY.

The favorite song this far is Yi Ai Xiang Yi (like everyone else's lol). That song is just wonderful. It stars out calm and beautiful and then only improves. I really like Fang Huang also, expecially the verses and pre-choruses. They feel kind of nostalgic to me. Love Song is also great, especially the Japanese version, as well as the intro song. I don't really have an opinion about the rest of the songs yet except that I have find BABY BABY's chorus kind of annoying.

I really like the intro to this album, but I do have to agree with some of the others about how it has nothing to do with the album's theme at all... but oh well, I still liked the song.

鳳凰
I enjoyed the song overall, but I did feel the final chorus could've been a little more pronounced or something. I mean, I suppose they did insert the wailing in the background but I just felt that after the song ended it still left me wanting more.

以愛相宜
Seriously, what is not to like about this song? Beautiful instrumentation and great vocals that build into an epic finale, it's just a good song.

Love Song
I like this song. It's bordering the generic, cookie-cutter realm a little but overall I think the emotion is really displayed in the song.

I didn't like this song at first, but it's beginning to grow on me a little.

I don't particularly like or dislike this song. It's just too "typical" to me

我回來了
I liked it as a single, so I was fine with it being on the album. I enjoy the mellow beginning that builds into an inspirational-sounding final chorus.

孤獨的天份
For some reason I find it kind of catchy, even though overall I don't really like the song all that much.

經過南青山
I'm not sure why, but this song just didn't really appeal to me. It wasn't really a very memorable entry to this album in my opinion.

窗外
This song is really nice. I like how it has this almost nostalgic, somber feeling to it. Oh and I actually don't mind the random man in the song. I thought it worked out well in the end.

BABY BABY
I'm not really that big on the "cutesy" song category, so my opinion of this song is a little baised. I suppose it's not necessarily a bad song, but I just can't get over the crazy sound effect in the opening...

Love Song ～きっともう一度～
I'm always up for some new Japanese alan songs! I suppose I could hear her accent return a little bit, but not so much that it made me dislike it. And I did think the addition of the extra lines and effects was nice. Made the song better overall.
