As of now the fanclub leader has the funds locked, possibly from a sudden inflow of funds while her Paypal account is just opened brand new. This could have led Paypal suspicious. She needs to provide a proof of receipt, possibly because some of you paid via the 'goods and services' option. As paypal offers the buyers money protection, and the fan club leader can't provide the proof of receipt then the funds might be transferred back to you. It is this point that it becomes increasingly difficult to manage the transactions. The buyer will be responsible for the transaction fee.

Since the fanclub leader buys the alan photobook in bulk she will not have the receipt printed per single photobook. That makes explaining the situation to Paypal only more difficult.

From now on I strongly suggest to use the 'Friends and Family' option to transfer the funds. If you can't do that then I am sorry to say that getting the photobook won't be possible. You are not obliged to transfer the funds if you don't trust. And as I mentioned before the fanclub leader is taking risk on her side by buying a massive order on her money first."

We will wait 2 more days to see if her account can be resolved. If not, I will provide another reliable account for everyone to transfer your payments.

However, please still try to see if your payment might go through. So far, 15 payments has successfully gone through. She has already received $636, so it's not all negative news from me!

PayPal is notoriously bad for dealing with this kind of thing unfortunately... I feel bad for the fanclub leader, it will probably be a while before things can be fixed. :(

I just tried to send mine and got, "We're sorry, but we can't send your payment right now." just so you know.

If her account has to take a long time, I will just arrange for everyone to transfer their payments to another AI member. This way, at least when her account is ready, someone else can just transfer everything over to her

As opposed to sending it one by and one and then getting her account frozen again~

I really find it amazing how this all came together so quickly after finding out about the calendar / photo book, and it's availability only in China.  I have to commend Pommy and everyone else that worked with her to make this happen.  I think it is very unfortunate that this became much more difficult than what was originally planned, and it looks like it is turning into a nightmare for some.

Reading the announcement posts from the beginning, it was evident that Pommy desired to find a way that AI members from all over the world could obtain the calendar. She took this cause to sites that might offer a solution which resulted in a possible solution from alan herself, one that would be of some expense and effort on alan's part.  What a great community this is! My heart is certainly touched by all of this, and I am filled with gratitude to Pommy, her friend in China handling a huge portion of the endeavor, and alan.  There are probably several other behind-the-scenes people trying to make this happen, especially the people sending out the photo books to members in their country, to whom I am also grateful.

I still can't believe how quickly this all came together with the level of complexity there is.  I hope the Paypal issues are resolved quickly, but even in the face of this, alternative methods are being explored and implemented.  I hope that everyone who made a purchase appreciates all that is going on to try to make this happen.

Pommy, I know a lot of effort went into this, and is still going on, I want you to know that whatever happens I am very grateful for the wonderful services you provide for all alan fans!

I forgot to mention, but the Paypal issue has been resolved! Her account is unfrozen now and is only in a limited status.
But she will be sending in the paperworks, so it'll all be good!

I've sent only emails of those that haven't paid yet updating them on this situation :)


This has been such an incredible 3 days...After everything is over, I will write one long post on my feelings...because there's so much more behind-the-scene kindness that I didn't expect, not just as fans, but as people!

alan fandom really is the best! I'm so thankful that you guys trust me so much. You know that I would never do anything to betray that trust. I just want us to be one small, but loving family and I think we have really accomplished that

But all the photobooks have been shipped out by Carmen. Some countries have gotten them already and are already distributing while other countries are still waiting.

The countries waiting are US, Poland, Finland, Spain, etc.
I don't have the list in front of me right now.

I'm from Spain and today I recived it!

So excited for this! Can't wait to receive this in the mail!
