| 2010-07-26 04:11 alan Dawa Dolma might not be as familiar to the Chinese audience, but she's already got a name for herself in Japan. She was invited to perform at the Japan Expo at the Shanghai Expo. She appeared in a faint yellow dress and used Chinese and Japanese to sing the song created for the 2008 Sichuan earthquake and it was a very emotional performance. alan was born in Beauty Valley, but she grew up in Chengdu. Her album sales broke the previous record held by Faye Wong on the Oricon rankings. She has also successfully held her own concerts in Japan. In Hong Kongm she was nominated twice with "RED CLIFF's" theme song for the Hong Kong Film Awards. alan became a celebrity when she was in the 3rd year of college and she went to a foreign country to work. alan was very unused to this and she had a language barrier. Her Japanese wasn't very good when she first started learning it, so she has caused many jokes because of it. "Like the pronouncation for tuna and car sounds very alike in Japanese, so when someone asked me how did I get here, I meant to say I rode in the car here, but other people ends up hearing that I rode the fish here. Everyone laughed a lot and it was really awkward." When remembering about the hard time she had, alan thinks that it was just testing her ability to accept different things. "It's definitely not easy for me to be in Japan. Japanese people would think that where did this girl come from. As a Chinese person developing in Japan, it has started many questions in China and many people would have their prejudices against me or they don't understad. But, I rarely have any negative comments in my Tieba and my blog. Many Chinese fans support me and the company and I feel it's very unexpected." Source |

| Oh.. I tried to saying 'maguro' and 'kumura' but it doesn't sound alike :XD:
alan had been through many hard times in Japan, I also heard several times about people laugh at her bcoz of this language problem, especially in her earlier days when her Japanese wasn't as good as now. I know she's working hard, and I also know how difficult to learn other languages, so I promise I'll try not to make fun or laugh at her anymore when see her saying wrong Japanese words or getting confuse bcoz she doesn't understand what to answer in Japanese :) |

| Must be hard trying to buil a career, while at the same time dealing with a new country and language. It's good that alan has people who support her! As long as she keeps working hard and stays positive, I'm sure it'll be fine! :3 |

| hmm this would be a bad rap for Alan. because it would kinda be offend to some japanese fan too. I don't know but it just my two cent coming from this article... I find it more of a national stand point here. especially from the last paragraph.... |

| I think she tends to speak more about her Chinese fans for Chinese articles...or she talks about all of her fans, but the articles just rearranged her words~ |
