Artists like alan?

i don't know if this has been posted before, but are there any artists similar to alan? i'm looking for people who sing like her more than her actual musical style. i know alan is super unique and there's probably no one who can wail quite as well as her <3 but just any artists with a similar sort of singing style? i can only think of a few chinese artists like han hong, yun duo, and tan wei wei. not exactly the same, but they sing high notes and have a sort of ethnic sound to them. anyone know others?

You can try Sa Ding Ding, though she's a lot more eccentric~

But her voice is delicate like alan's and her music is very ethnic

SingerSen. She can do a lot of crazy things with her voice, I won't say it's close to alan's voice but you should check her EP "Sirens".

thanks for the suggestions guys! i haven't been on in a few days because i've been so busy, but i finally got around to ordering tons of alan cds Embarrass

and i'll probably get some more music too once i listen some more of these artists.

alan is the best, but since "they don't want to make her famous" we are all looking for some other voices to enjoy some oriental (style)music

if you like some "sort of ethnic sound" style (like myself) :-) look at this youtube playlist, there are some tibetan style and some chinese... these are some of my favorites, not all of them necessarily the best songs from these artists, but the videos what you can easily find on youtube.

. but I checked out some of your suggestions Wgabi! I really like a lot of that folkish music.:) And yeah, I agree I wish alan would make a folkish album too because I really like her Tibetan sounding songs and covers. Like sign and qing zang gao yuan, etc. But I love her modern stuff too. Which I think makes her so unique because she's so versatile.

in jpop there was some girl but she didnt go too far, she released only 3 singles but they are gold worthy - hidemi uematsu

JYONGRI and yuna ito have incredible voices as well, but hidemi is the only one I know with -uniqueness-

when I think about it, I dont want alan ever stop making music, there's no one like her

Two other singers I like are Tsewang Lhamo 泽旺拉姆 and Yangchen Lhaze 央金兰泽

i have put a few more songs to this list, but it isn't full at all, i can't find many of my favorite songs on youtube, i like some of the songs from yangchen lhaze as well

also have a lot of songs from:

米线 (mixian)and some other "dolmas" (other than alan) 曲旦卓玛, 仁钦卓玛 whom are difficult to find on youtube.

since i started to listen alan's tibetan songs, i totally fell in love with tibetan female voices, most of the singers have such a strong but clear beautiful voices, i used to listen more japanese songs, but lately i tend to listen more and more tibetan, chinese-tibetan songs, most of the other singers are now sound "faded" "lost-their-voice"-ed for me, that is why i hope alan will sing some tibetan-style songs, and give those goosebumps :-)

I recommend SingerSen! She's not similar per se, but she has great, crazy vocals and some wonderful songs. Some are oriental sounding too. Hohoho

i do have a little free time today as well... although i don't use this forum lately, due to my utmost disappointment alan's good for nothing chinese pop songs, (i know, i know it's not her fault, and i'm not going to go down this road again) but i do check this site some times, hoping that might a miracle happen, and someone write her songs where she could sing like a heavenly angel again... before this happen, i'll listen songs like these...

obviously there are many more singers, this is only a bit of the full picture, since i do not speak chinese nor tibetan, my resources are very limited, but managed to find many good albums, the names and titles translated in different ways on different sites, so i don't know sometimes which one is more accurate, i just go with one :-(

i started to look for tibetan singers, after i found alan, now i couldn't live without tibetan female voices :-) they are the best, i have to thank alan...

thank you alan :-) i hope you can sing your own tibetan songs one day
