| I'm just going to translate the parts with alan's interview on her personal life and her upcoming album. The rest of the interview is just about her recommending good places to eat in Beijing
L=Lohas Weekly, A=alan
L: You've worked with Chae Yeon lately on the show "Dream Team". Everyone loves the "Chae Lan" team, so what has this stage given you? A: This is a charity show. 8 teams of celebrities are here for charity and for the children. As a singer, being able to use my voice to broadcast my feelings is a very important thing. Chae Yeon is a very hard-wroking and opinionated Korean celebrity. Not just from her, but I've also learned a lot from her Korean team.
L: You will be releasing your new album in September. I've heard that you're also involved in the production process. How will the music style be different from before? A: There will be a bit of a change. Actually, I'm very troubled by it. Since my debut, I haven't had a set genre. I hope that this album will give me a new breakthrough. I will mix Chinese ethnic styles with world music. So far, we haven't set on a name for the album. We've recorded 5-6 songs for the album so far. The already announced "Home" was written by me. The theme song for "Qin's Moon", the animated movie, will also be in the album.
L: As a Tibetan singer, how will you develop your ethnic style? A: I will still continue down the "pop+ethnic" or "ethnic+world" music style. The new album have ethnic elements.
L: What are you like in real life? A: I'm a bit dazed and love to eat. My memory isn't very good, so I'm always losing things. I like to eat all kinds of cuisine and I love spicy food. My personality is "lolita on the outside, strong woman on the inside". I may look weak, but I'm actually very strong.
L: What do you like to do in your free time? A: I like to plan afternoon teas with my friend or go indoors. Sometimes I go to my producer's studio to practice. I especially love to travel. I can relax and focus on the beautiful scenery. I really want to go to Alaska to see the Northern Lights, but since it's a bit far away, I haven't been able to fulfill my wish. If I have a chance, I'll go with my friends.
L: What do you like to eat? A: I like crab, Sichuan hot pot, and Japanese nabe.
L: What kind of attitude do you have towards food? A: You get tired working, so you shouldn't be too harsh on yourself. I like to search for different food and try the out. I can eat French cuisine with red wine or just a food stall on the street. As long as you're with someone you like, you can eat anything. |

| It's awesome to hear she's sticking with her ethnic style. I'm curious about the charity show though, this is the first time I've heard of her participation. Sounds interesting, especially in regards to her working with a Korean music artist. Thanks for translating!

| My hopes for this album went up ten-fold after reading this. Can't wait for more music to pop up leading up to the album's release! :D
And yeah, I'm lost too. What exactly is this charity thing she's talking about? I never heard about it until now either lol |

| Oh yeah that charity thing...I'm not really sure what the TV show is about, but basically the celebrities team up and perform or something...
So far, alan has performed twice with Chae Yeon and one of the songs was Jolin's Sun Will Never Set |

| I've been following that TV show lately, it's pretty great, it's called 梦想星搭档, if anyone is interested.
And so many great news in that interview ! I just can't wait for the new album. |

| Thanks for the translation! I love she seems to be more confident, going all "I may seem weak, but, hey, don't be fooled, I'm actually going to kick your backside!" XD And about the new album, I don't see many differences: basically she's doing her usual thing, mixing ethnic with pop and other genres. Sometimes she does it lightly, like with Voice of the Earth, and sometimes she tries harder like in My Life. But I love what she usually does, anyway!XD |

I absolutely love alan's live performances with Chae Yeon – they both have quite different voices and yet they created fantastic duets together like they complemented each other alan & Chae Yeon - '姐妹(Sisters) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCMKdc71Ge4alan & Chae Yeon - 日不落(The Sun Will Never Set) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bbe4iND0Pa8alan & Chae Yeon - 至少还有你 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kie78Qjx8Ealan & Chae Yeon - Endless Love - theme song for The Myth (美丽的神话) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYvWWcUfsFY |
