I really needed to open this thread...just to let me rage!

The list of reasons why I hate this stupid company is just growing by the day!
Feel free to rage! Raging is more fun in groups!

Ok I'll start~

• 1. alan's first comeback single with them, the cover is just a photoshop of some editorial pic. Yes, everyone...that's not even freakin' alan in the freakin' cover!
  
• 2. They said the album was coming out, but they delayed it for 6 freakin' months! 6 months!!!! You think we would stop taking them seriously after the first 3!!!
  
• 3. They said they spent all this money for Leslie Kee to shoot the album. Ok...alan was only in Japan for 1 day with Leslie and they shot COLORS OF HOPE and Love Song. Love Song was just a leftover shoot from COLORS OF HOPE (which Leslie invited alan for the shoot!)
  All that crap about Yuehua sending so much was just plain BS.
  
• 4. They shot those crappy micromovies, so they didn't even have money for an actual MV.
  
• 5. They got these horrible composers, lyricists, and arrangers. The album quality is just eww.
  Also, the arrangement for Home kinda plagiarized another song....The intro sounds exactly the same.
  
• 6. The person who wrote the lyrics for Phoenix designed the album jacket! Freakin, that's not even your job!!!!!!!!!!!!
  
• 7. They did all these promotional events on Weibo and...nothing ever happened! All these fans participated, but they never said the event was over or anything! No one got a prize, a notification, just crap of a company!
  
• 8. They try to make alan act cause that's what every good singer should do! They don't work on her music, but want her to venture into other areas of entertainment. Like wtf?!
  
• 9. And now, they're making her go on a singing competition for amateurs and has-been's! alan isn't even a has-been!
  And I just saw a news article saying alan was given 2 choices...To go on the singing show or a stars Olympics diving show.

But I don't know if it's because I want alan back in Japan. I don't really think China can do the best for her... When I noticed that alan left Japan, my heart was broken, but I accept it because I knew she would be happier there.

And Avex could have done better things for her, but they didn't. But still, her work with Avex is much better than Yuehua!!! I mean I like her Love Song album, but I prefer the songs she made with Avex!

And what is that about "stars Olympics diving show"?

The show is where celebrities are trained by Olympic divers...and they compete in diving X___X

Sounds like the company is going out of it's way to screw over alan every which way possible. What other options would she have if things get even worse for her at Yuehua and she decides to make a switch? Sony? Universal? Warner? Sorry, I'm not exactly privy to which record labels - international or domestic - exist in the mainland.

And I thought it was bad enough that they were doing that incredibly stupid diving show here in the states, but now China's getting in on it too? Ugh. I suppose alan had no choice but to pick the lesser or two evils - at least with a singing competition she has the opportunity to gain more fans through what she does best (though I'm not exactly sure what qualifies Zhang Ziyi to be a judge on the show, but hey, at least she seemed to like alan's performance).

But yeah, ******* Yuehua. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

But, I think so too. And in fact Avex China also has shortcomings, but it is better. And when there is news of the dissolution of Avex China makes me worry. And who wants to buy a low quality CD and 3 MV? And for MV in Love Song, they just make 3 MV +1 Behind the Scene including Feng Huang.

I didn't know all this... And I've never ever hated Yuehua, 'cause I absolutely ADORE Love Song (would pick it any day over my life album, tbh) and I didn't find it "low quality" at all. For me it was delicate and fitting alan personality, and I was happy she kinda tried something relatively new (not too many wailing notes, etc). The little videos were ok too.
Well, shortly, I think they did a pretty decent job!XD
(I'm always the only one disagreeing in this kind of discussions, but, hey, can't do anything about it!XDDD)

As a disclaimer, I have to admit I'm a little biased considering I dream everyday of alan's triumphant return to Japan, but to be honest, that has nothing to do with my disappointment. Personally I didn't think that Love Song was bad persay, but I just feel that alan deserved better than mediocrity. I was expecting so much from the album, and it just wasn't at all what I thought she would release; I was expecting so much more from her...

Then we hear news of her working on new music and becoming more involved in the whole album-making process (like songwriting and production of Home), which really got my hopes up. But after reading all of the crazy things that Yuehua has done and is now trying to do, I'm not seeing such a promising future for that new album either. Especially the tidbits about trying to steer alan towards acting, and possible diving reality shows... It's just ridiculous really.

At the end of the day if she wants to stay in China, then that is completely her choice. I would only wish nothing more than for her to be happy and to release more new music already. I would just hope that those damn record label people could appreciate the talent that they have in front of them versus squandering it for the sake of their own desires for alan's career path.

Honestly i like Love song, but half album is generic.
And the micromovies are so boring, simples MV's would be better.

I have to agree with all of you, Yuehua sucks. She could be way more famous than she is now if they handled her better, the thing is that the other artists under Yuehua are doing very well ! Hangeng of course, and 周笔畅 too.

Yuehua has reached a whole new level of "amateurism" with alan seriously.

Wow, I didn't know most of those things. Yeah, I really like Love Song (because alan) but it definitely doesn't fail in giving a decent-sized dose of that C-pop mediocrity... Yuehua is wasting these years with her most potential is what bothers me the most. How long is she signed with them for? I know she won't renew.

This sums up her Chinese career for me:
1. Avex China, first real Chinese label gives 有Me就好, a generic song ignoring her talents.
2. Alan does okay, wants better career.
3. Yuehua says, "We'll help you do that!"
4. She believes them and signs.
5. Yuehua, second Chinese label gives Baby Baby, a similar generic song ignoring her talents.
Now just think of those songs as her entire Chinese career; that's basically how it's happened.
They kept her at the same level or less, ignoring her special needs as an artist who's done what she has. They lied to her and everyone. Just so they can follow the formula, instead of taking risks like they know they should have. Because money.

Every release by alan has potential to blow listeners away, and they are sitting here squandering her talent away.

^ Well, I don't really think it's a China problem, but a general one.
I mean, if you think of her japanese career, apart from the absolute perfection of Voice of the Earth, they messed up as well. How about songs like Namida, or Shiroi Tsubasa, or One, or Mitsumeteitai? Nice, but for me generical and typical jpop ballads. And when we had some very good singles to do a very nice, new album, they went with the Best thing, which for me was madness (where they put Komorebi instead of things like Namonaki Tane!). In Japan the quality of music is higher, true, but I think at Avex people had their fair share of messing with her as well, it's like anyone can't takes her seriously enough! >:(
Maybe my satisfaction with Yuehua depends on the fact that I wasn't expecting anything good from them, and instead they pulled out a beautiful album (imo) and that surprised me a lot. I'm willing to give them some faith, unless they fail her spectacularly.

Well at least the next album seems to go in the right direction, with alan's statements on blending pop + ethnic. I really hope it's *the* release we've all been waiting for !
