ALAN THE WORLD #7
Singer and AneCan model alan: her present, past & future.
I’m the smallest among Anecan! Ah, I mean among the models. People call me S Lady. About 2 years have passed since I first became an Anecan model. At first I just got interviewed and got shoots for the artist page. But after that, people from the editorial department asked me, “Won’t you become a model?” I was really surprised~! My height is only 158cm. That’s not a model height, is it? But I love reading fashion magazines, so I was really happy~.
I didn’t know what it means to be a model. I didn’t know how to pose, so I asked everyone, “Please tell me how, okay?” The day after my first model shoot, my back hurt. I had turned a lot, twisting my body into various poses, so my muscles ached (laughs).
What left the biggest impression on me, was the “One Month Coordination”. I wore a lot of different clothes and I was photographed a lot! I was able to practice modelling a lot. Modelling doesn’t only involve me, it also involves the photographer, hair & make-up artists, stylists and editors. Together, everyone looks for the best matching clothes and for the best feel. I love modelling.
Girls love fashion, right~? I love fashion too. Also, I’m an artist. An artist isn’t just a singer that sings songs. An artist is someone who can take on various challenges. That’s why I want to put just as much effort into my modelling as I do into my singing. A good model can wear both cute and mature clothes; she can make everything look good. I hope I can do that as well~. When it comes to singing, it’s also very important to link to the lyrics and make a song cute or mature. My modelling definitely also has a good effect on my singing.
By the way, did you know that Anecan also has a Chinese edition? I was invited to sing at the premiere in Shanghai a few days ago. I’ll be happy if people in China, and of course in Japan, will take interest in my music thanks to my modelling work. I want people from all over the world to listen to my music. Creating an exchange of cultures via my music, is one of my dreams.
Japan is my second home. The big earthquake is really terrible. When I watched the news and when I read everyone’s words in interviews, my tears wouldn’t stop flowing. But I want to do what I can do. I want to sing. I want to help to combine everyone’s strength through music. That’s why I want to sing with my whole heart, even more than before. Let’s all live strongly together!
