It seems to me like all her haters are Chinese? When I go on other sites generally people praise her music, or if it's really not their style they just say that they don't like the music, but I have never actually seen haters before.

^^ Even though I think it's not really a good reason to dislike someone (I think many people underestimate the difficulty of learning a new language), at least it's reasonable when it comes from Japanese people. I think it's just plain laughable when Chinese people point out that her japanese or english sucks (there are a lot of Chinese foreign scholars in my school who are really the top students in the country, and their english after 4 years are not perfect either)

I just realised, I think there is really a difference in mentality here. Like we're all kind of "we love her for being herself, flaws and all", and even though we say like "oh I wish she would this or that", at the end of the day, we still respect that it's her life and her decisions, and she's not obliged to change or to live for any of us.

But fans in China (not just alan fans either) seem to have this sense of entitlement, like if they're fans of her music a lot of them are like "oh you should be more this this this" to her and they get angry when she doesn't conform to their expectations... And there is this weird mentality that celebrities shouldn't respond to haters, and they shouldn't get angry etc. I mean I understand where they come from but it actually goes to the point that when a celebrity responds to haters, some people actually gets angry at him/her and say that oh you know you're so annoying/seeking attention/have low EQ etc., which is just really stupid! I mean celebrities are people too! Personally I'm fine with celebrities getting angry or whatever, as long as they don't do it too often

This may sound really silly and naive, but sometime I really wish that people can be more understanding and accepting of others...

lol, I love when celebrities got angry, I mean, I see in that way they are human too.
In general, I love when artists I follow show emotions cuz if they did not, I wouldnt care for them I guess.

I don't think there's many people outside China hate alan, but I know some people don't really interested in her music.
Well I actually got surprised a lot when first heard about this alan haters thing. How could people hate her.. She might not perfect in language - it can be a reason to dislike her music (I also don't really like some foreign songs coz I found the language are annoying) but it's definitely not a reason to hate her personally.
I'm not really sure but maybe some people tend to dislike something from their own country? It happened to me since I'm not fond of my own country's music - not all but mostly.

I just think that it's ridiculous cos a lot of the Chinese haters nickname her "lazy" (happen that "lan" is of smilar sound to lazy in Chinese'", and they say that her language faults are because she's lazy and doesn't put in effort to study, because she spends all her time shopping and buying branded stuff etc... That is just so obvously jealousy and then when she gets annoyed and angry they say it's because she's arrogant and not humble enough to take other's criticisms...

But on a side note the thing with people outside of China, their are just to much different verity of Artist that most people would chose to listen to or just totally ignore it, and when it come to people not liking Alan they will just take the expectation of ignoring it. However, I think the reason why alan have more Chinese hating fan is because she is one of the more successful Artist to break through the Chinese market and hit international fam "sorta of", Which far give Alan a more popularity with the Chinese crowd that of which to a international crowd. And Yes I do know some people who think Alan voice isn't that great and most of the time they always question me why do I love her so much. And the only thing I say to them is.................. hahahha

Whether you like or don't like a particular genre of music is largely determined on a personal base. If you don't like it that's ok. Just move on with the music you do like. I don't understand why someone would want to hate an artist for longer period of time and keep bashing. That's really a waste of time. Haters just blind themselves.

IMHO alan shouldn't respond to those haters. It's not worth it and you are giving the haters credit by responding. Focus on your supportive and loyal fans.

I only recently heard of a large base of Chinese people in China hating alan. Not sure if hating would be the right word to use. But I got an clear indication the atmosphere there is very negative. This just outright upsets me. I'm a Chinese, but a foreign raised Chinese as you can see from my profile. There's really no reason to hate an artist.

I only hang around AI community when it comes to alan. So I don't know of any haters outside from other countries. But let's not waste too much time on these topics. I have much confidence we AI family share the same thoughts about this case. Glad to see that we're being very constructive here! Always being supportive to alan ( :

Jealousy could be a possibility. Some people are bad losers. I see a simular case with Charice that made her entry and success into the US. But her local Filipino fans don't always take her success for granted.

^ well Alan is strong and a bit stubborn form time to time but I love her this way. Anyway Hater will always be here, know matter how much people try to ignore it, It just human nature, and it seem most haven't developed a sense of maturity yet. However the way to let hater feel stupid is to just ignore them sooner or later their hate is just going to eat them up and eventually end up killing themself from the inside.

I outside China now....hate her very much... not release new song for me.

I've never encountered dedicated alan haters outside China.
Then again, I've never encountered Chinese haters either, since I can't read Chinese XD;

I have seen people calling alan a flop, but never really hating on her. Most of them seem to think it's a pity since she's so talented, or they don't really care about her. But there's really no use worrying about haters, since it's not likely that they'll change their opinion.
