I've seen multiple members post about hoping she returns to Japan and then gets disappointed when she doesn't...

So I'm just posting this for everyone to see~

alan's contract with Avex Trax ended in 2012. She signed with them in 2007 and the contract was only for 5 years. She did not renew her contract.
The only contract she have right now is with Yuehua Entertainment.

She will not be returning to Japan. She is only focused on China right now.

My only thoughts for her regarding the Japanese industry was this: seeing Love Song in JP version on her album, I thought she may release dual-language singles (even if the JP version were only digital releases or something and she didn't promote in Japan), and if she is invited to an event/live in Japan that she would go there for those short events a few times a year. These are still possible, since she still has a decent fanbase in Japan (?). Maybe Yuehua thinks "Let's continue to make a Japanese song every once in a while to keep those fans buying the Chinese albums." (I'm fine with that! :P)

Thanks for clearing it up that way. I know in the interview you translated recently she said she didn't sign again because the contract was a 3 year commitment.

Edit: Yeah I realized I posted in the "upcoming album thread" about possibility of Japan, but after I read your message there and then the interview is when I realized it wasn't even in her future plans at all anymore. So thanks for this thread hah.

They made the Japanese version of Love Song at the last minute because it was a song thanking the Japanese fans for their love and support.

It's also really hard between Japan and China right now due to political conflicts, so maybe it's good that alan just stays away from Japan for a while.

And to be honest, alan rarely got invited to events and artists are only invited if their company pursue a spot for them or they're popular enough to get asked and Yuehua has no business in Japan, so I doubt alan will go to Japan for such events >_<

Ah ok. That settles the issue. And yeah, I don't remember many events, just that huge one where she sung Red Cliff, and she wouldn't have been there if not for the hugely popular film unfortunately...

I'm very happy with the way her Japanese career ended. She got to release some great songs before her departure. (The beautiful songs on JPB disc 2 and Panda/Ikiru, such sweet/inspired/hopeful/positive songs.)

It is sad she won't be returning to Japan, but eh... I do like her Love Song album and I'm already excited for her upcoming album. As long she's making beautiful music, I'm happy. :) AND KEEP BRINGING THOSE GORGEOUS SHOOTS. I WANT THOSE SCANS. D:

alan did an amazing job in Japan, she is one of the most important chinese artists in Japan. She was No.1 in the oricon charts for 1 day.
She had many top 30 singles.

Seriously she worked a lot, and i hope she can keep releasing her beautiful songs!!!!

Sadly for me, chinese is a really hard language and i could take like a month for remember the lyrics of 1 song, XD

I'm glad she's still making music. Also, I love chinese so I don't bother listening to her new releases.

Sad part: Avex didn't care much about her. She deserved more.

I'm kind of sad that she's not going to be making any music in Japan, but it seems like she has much more freedom with her music right now in China, not to mention that she doesn't have all of the stresses of being in a strange country with a new language on her mind like when she first signed with Avex. Hopefully having so much taken off her shoulders will allow her to shine brighter than ever before :)

I think Avex did care about her though... she has never been a huge success but her singles still broke the Top 15 spot once in a while, and they still made her release many singles and 2 1/2 albums, they did try to promote her.

Well I'm totally fine with the situation she's in... and as long as she makes music !

I think avex and her staff did a good job!
She had many tie-ins with movies and she did many performances in tv with kuon no kawa and BALLAD. She performed Swear on Music Station (and the single didn't chart in the top 20).

avex did an amazing job tbh. at least in voice of earth era. that was true storm in japanese market.

No matter where she will be in the future, as long as her insistence exists,she will still find a way to realize the goal of publishing songs she wants from the bottom of her heart.Actually,I hate the songs written by mainland writers,which can not give a very good image and high-level mental communication.

Well alan is starting to get more hands-on with her next album, so we'll see more of alan and less of 'them'!

well, alan did a amazing job in Japan, at least she stolen my heart, it enough...I believe alan have thought twice about her future music career, now she start making songs again. maybe in one day she will write some owesome song, she will be successful sooner or later...

two years ago I started learning Japanese with hope I would be able to understand her songs, then she went back to China lol

LOL THAT WAS MY EXACT SITUATION! I already loved several Japanese musicians already, so when I started listening to alan it was sort of the final nail in the coffin that sealed my desire to study Japanese. So I did -- three and a half years later, she's staying in China XD Now I gotta jump ship!
